M24 pre-ship activities have been officially completed as of October 4, and OSDU Milestone 24 (M24) is now available.
Our pre-shipping team has been instrumental in delivering the testing results, and we extend our deepest gratitude to them. We would also like to recognize and acknowledge all project teams for helping us to deliver yet another successful milestone.

Important Updates
- Elastic Search Upgrade:
- The Indexer service’s Elasticsearch Java client SDK has been upgraded to version 7.17.22.
- It is recommended to upgrade the Elasticsearch server to version 7.17.22 or higher to avoid compatibility issues.
New Features
- Sandbox/Incubator Capabilities:
- New platform capabilities have been introduced, enhancing development and testing environments with more flexibility and resources for innovation.
- Manifest Ingestion by Reference:
- This feature allows for more efficient data management by referencing existing data manifests, simplifying the process of ingesting large datasets.
- Rock and Fluid Sample DDMS:
- Supports the management and analysis of rock and fluid samples, crucial for geological and environmental studies.
- Production DDMS – Historian and Core:
- Enhances data management and historical data analysis, providing better insights into production data.
Deprecation Notice
- File and Dataset Services Integration:
- The focus is shifting towards enhancing the Dataset service for file and dataset delivery.
- Both services will remain operational for now, but users are encouraged to transition to the enhanced Dataset service for better performance and features.
Enhancements and Bug Fixes
- Core and Helper Services:
- Various updates and fixes have been implemented, including improvements in search functionality and API enhancements, aiming to improve overall performance and reliability.
- Ingestion Services:
- Workflow and ingestion processes have been improved to enhance efficiency and accuracy, streamlining data ingestion and reducing errors and processing time.
- External Data Services (EDS):
- Enhancements in seismic data management and analytics features provide better tools for analyzing seismic data, crucial for industries like oil and gas.
- Geospatial Consumption Zone (GCZ):
- Authorization processes have been overhauled, new data types are supported, and incremental cache updates have been implemented, improving the security and functionality of geospatial data management.
