Dear OSDU Forum Members and Supporters,
I am always grateful for the amazing things that this OSDU Forum community does and am personally inspired by what is possible when great people are empowered to do great things!
I am incredibly proud of the work we achieve together in 2024. As you reflect on these insights, I hope you are inspired and look forward to what the Forum can achieve in 2025.
Some insights from 2024:
- We are a truly global organization. Our membership spans six continents, with more than a dozen new member organizations joining the OSDU Forum this year.
- The community delivered two global member meetings, each with hundreds of attendees, 70 abstracts submitted, and 80 community award nominations.
- Significant progress has been made to develop a robust community implementation of the OSDU Data Platform to support certification and increase development velocity.
- The OSDU Forum, Data Platform, and surrounding ecosystem have remained important and popular topics at every industry conference with a digital technology track.
- The growth of the OSDU Forum Mining Special Interest Group (SIG) has expanded the value of the OSDU data platform and ecosystem to industry adjacencies.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) has officially entered the conversation! The work this community has done with AI on the OSDU Data Platform is now seen as a critical enabler.
Sometimes it can be a bit challenging to see the progress when you’re immersed in the work, but this short and incomplete list makes me proud to play a small part in the work that our OSDU Members do.
We have great expectations for 2025, and it won’t be possible to complete them without our amazing OSDU Members. Your contributions are the moving force – the heartbeat that is making the OSDU vision a reality – one with real tangible business value today.
A special thanks to our OSDU leaders as leadership in a community is a special kind of leadership. You have embraced the idea of servant leadership and are empowering individuals and driving our achievements to fruition. We are in your debt.
I am looking forward to the incredible achievements we will accomplish together in 2025. If you are a Member then please feel free to share your thoughts or ideas for 2025, as your input is invaluable.
If not a Member, now this a great time to join as we are midst great strides and you can help move us to the next epic initiative. We want to hear from you as well, to answer any questions and help you get the most from your membership.
I hope to see more new Members in our virtual meetings and at the upcoming global members meeting in Amsterdam this May. Looking forward to an amazing 2025 with all of you.
See you soon,
-Patrick
